How to Adopt a Rescue Dog in Arizona

Thinking about adding a four-legged member to the family? Adopting a rescue dog is one of the most rewarding things you’ll ever do — and at The Disco Dog Club, we work hard to make it joyful, personal, and pressure-free. Here’s exactly how adoption works with our Arizona dog rescue, and what to expect along the way.

Step 1: Meet the dogs

Start by browsing our available rescue dogs. Because every Disco Dog lives in a foster home in the Phoenix metro or Casa Grande area, we can tell you what each dog is really like — energy level, quirks, how they do with kids, cats, and other dogs. You can even follow each dog’s journey through the rescue on their profile page.

Step 2: Apply online

Found a dog who makes your heart skip? Fill out our adoption application. It’s not a test — it just helps us understand your home, lifestyle, and what you’re looking for, so we can make a match that sticks for a lifetime.

Step 3: Meet-and-greet and home visit

Once your application is approved, we’ll arrange a meet-and-greet with your potential match. If it’s a great fit, we’ll do a friendly home visit to make sure everything is safe and ready for your new arrival. We’re happy to share tips on dog-proofing, introductions to resident pets, and settling-in routines.

Step 4: Welcome home

If it’s a match, we finalize the adoption and celebrate — it’s officially your dog’s “gotcha day”! Every Disco Dog goes home spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, and with the full backing of a rescue that will always care what happens to them.

Why adopt from a foster-based rescue?

  • No guesswork: our dogs are known, loved, and honestly described by their foster families.
  • Real matches: we match dogs to lifestyles, not just applications to kennels.
  • Two lives saved: when you adopt, your dog’s foster home opens up for the next dog in need.

Not quite ready to adopt?

That’s okay — there are other wonderful ways to help Arizona’s rescue dogs. You can foster a dog and be a hero without the lifetime commitment, volunteer with The Disco Dog Club, or make a donation that funds vet care, food, and second chances. And if you have questions about any part of adopting, reach out — we love talking about our dogs.
