Foster a Dog in Arizona

Fostering is the heart of The Disco Dog Club. As a foster-based Arizona dog rescue, we don’t have a shelter building — we have something better: a network of families across the Phoenix metro and Casa Grande area who open their homes to dogs in need. Every dog we save is saved because a foster said yes.

What fostering actually looks like

When you foster, you give a rescue dog a safe, loving place to live while we search for their forever family. You feed them, love them, and let them learn (or re-learn) what home feels like. Along the way, you become the world’s leading expert on that dog — and your insights help us find them the perfect match.

Fosters come in all shapes and sizes. Some families foster puppies for a few weeks; others host adult dogs until adoption day. Some specialize in helping shy dogs come out of their shell, or caring for a dog recovering from a procedure. Whatever your situation, there’s likely a dog who fits it.

What The Disco Dog Club provides

  • Veterinary care: the rescue covers our dogs’ vet care, including spay/neuter and vaccines.
  • Support: you’re never on your own — we’re a call or text away for questions big and small.
  • The match: we handle applications, screening, and adoption logistics. You handle the belly rubs.

Who can foster?

If you live in the Phoenix metro or the Casa Grande area, have a little room in your home and your heart, and can offer a safe environment, fostering may be a perfect fit — whether you rent or own, live alone or have a full house. Not sure whether your resident pets, schedule, or yard situation would work? Just ask. We’d rather answer a dozen questions than miss a great foster home.

How to become a foster

  • Read about volunteering and fostering on our Volunteer page — the FAQs answer the most common questions.
  • Fill out the volunteer & foster application to tell us about your home.
  • We’ll reach out, talk through what kind of dog fits your life, and match you with your first foster.

Can’t foster right now? You can still help a foster dog get everything they need: donate to support vet care and supplies, or meet the dogs currently looking for homes — because every adoption opens up a foster home for the next dog in need. Questions? Contact us anytime.
